What to expect

The Kid Culture Show is a 40 minute, primary school assembly that inspires kids to be accepting and open-minded, toward kids who may be 'different' from them. This show shares some great things about our world and specifically about the Kenyan culture through music, song, magic illusion, media, comedy, and audience participation.

This assembly focuses not only on accepting and respecting people from a different culture, but also others in their own schools that may be different and diversified in their own classrooms.

Our world-traveled super performer will bring this unforgettable show to your school. Through song, storytelling, music, multi media, magical illusions, comedy and audience participation, your students will take an adventure to Africa and to the country of Kenya where things are really different. But they will never forget it!

"I can honestly say that I felt the investment was definitely time well spent....we have never seen a program so professional in dealing with character issues. We will definitely have the Kid CULTURE Show again!"

—Mr. Noel Hughes, Principal, Manchester, Mo

meet jay risner

At the age of ten, Jay Risner learned how to make a puppet talk without moving his lips. A few years later, Jay performed a show for his Disney School in Springfield, Missouri. He certainly had no idea that someday he would be entertaining and inspiring students for the rest of his life!

At the age of 18, Jay signed a deal that made him one of the youngest contracted performers in any show at Six Flags Amusement parks. Over the next 3 years, Jay performed in over seventy shows a weekwith his one-man music, magic, and variety show at Six Flags Theme Parks in the United States.

In addition to his work in elementary schools in North America, Jay has performed in over thirty-six countries around the world. Jay is writing, performing, and directing a children’s television program in Kenya called “Rainbow Surprise”, that is reaching over eighteen million people each week.

Jay has a passion for encouraging kids to make good choices that reflect positive character qualities. Every month, Jay performs in front of thousands of people. Jay says, " My goal is to connect with every student, teacher, and parent in my audience, and to leave them with the inspiring messages that make The Kid Culture Show so affective and exciting.”

Jay and his wife Debbie lived in Kenya for over eight years. They truly understand the culture of this African country called Kenya.

Your students have never seen anything like this before!

cost of the show

The Kid Culture Show is brought to your school at no cost because of our way of covering the cost and helping others in Kenya. After the show, your students will have the opportunity to purchase hand beaded and carved jewelry and other handcrafted items by the men, women, and kids of Kenya. There is no minimum amount that has to be sold.

When a student purchases an item:

*It reminds the student about Kenya and how we are all different.

* It provides income for the families in Kenya that have made the items.

* It helps cover the cost for us to come.

"The character education that was embedded in the show weaved wonderfully with our approach to education...the students were 100% engaged..."

—Mr. LEE HUIZHONG Principal- KUNMING, CHINA
